DO's: How to Care for Your Tan

1. Wear loose, dark clothing after your appointment
Tight clothes can rub off the tan before it has a chance to set properly.
2. Wait at least 8–10 hours before showering
For rapid tans, follow the exact rinse time given during your appointment. Use lukewarm water and avoid soap on your first rinse unless advised otherwise.
3. Pat skin dry after showers
Always pat gently with a towel—never rub.
4. Moisturize daily (after your first rinse)
Hydration is the secret to a long-lasting, even tan. Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer at least once a day.
5. Stay hydrated
Drinking water helps your skin stay healthy and your tan last longer.
6. Use a tan-safe body wash
Opt for gentle, sulfate-free products to avoid stripping your tan.

DON'Ts: What to Avoid

1. Don’t shower, swim, or sweat heavily in the first 8–10 hours
This includes the gym, saunas, hot yoga, and pools. Water or sweat can cause streaking before the tan develops fully.
2. Avoid exfoliating or shaving right after your spray tan
Shaving acts like exfoliation and can cause patchiness. Wait 24+ hours and use a gentle razor when you do.
3. Say no to oil-based products
Body oils, oil-based lotions, and some makeup removers can break down your tan quickly.
4. Skip long hot baths or soaking in tubs
They’ll cause your tan to fade faster and unevenly.
5. Don’t touch or scratch your skin excessively
This can lead to uneven patches or premature fading.
6. Avoid tight-fitting clothes for the first day
Especially things like leggings, bras, or jeans that rub on the skin.
